Speak to Your Personal Mountains

We all have small or big personal mountains that seem insurmountable. Personal mountains may include a job that is zapping your energy yet you need it to financially maintain, a relationship that needs restoration yet it seems impossible, a desire that you yearn to see come to fruition yet the wait seems unbearable, and any other personal feats that appear to be out of your control. Suffice it to say personal mountains disrupt our joy, energy, and optimism. We cling to healthy/unhealthy coping mechanisms to deal with them “in the meantime” (the pressing middle phase until you overcome it). We also try our hardest to come up with solutions. Believe me when I say that there is always hope and a light within the tunnel as you face your personal mountains.

Have you tried speaking to your mountains? Have you tried telling those mountains how big your God is and how He has a plan/purpose for you that cannot be thwarted? Have you told your mountains NO you cannot steal my joy nor consume my energy? Start speaking to your mountains - with your whole heart, out loud, and repeatedly. Your personal mountains have to move because they do not have permanence in your life. Expressing yourself is a form of emotional release. The intention is to take back your power and restore your faith that you already have the victory. I currently have family, personal, and professional mountains that I am speaking to in this season. Calling them out to let them know that they have to move because they are getting in the way of my joy. While “in the meantime” I have resolved to lean not on my own understanding to instead keep my faith steadfast in the plan/purpose God has laid out before me.

Joy Gem: Write small mountains and big mountains across the top of your paper - draw a line down the middle. Next, list all of the personal mountains you are facing in this season. Reflect then craft 1 faith step for each mountain and choose one step to implement this week. When you start to notice a desired outcome from taking that first step then it is time to choose another step to implement (keep repeating this process).
