Sustain a Forward Gaze
Proverbs 4:25 NLT | Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
Disrupt your gaze to always look forward no matter the circumstance. Continuously gazing at what is behind you creates resistance in your life. You cannot change or manipulate the past nor hope for it to have been orchestrated in a different way. When you do choose to revisit the past, do so with the conviction to glean wisdom from the lessons learned and to determine destructive life patterns to uproot. You hold the key to the self-authority to decide to focus on what lies before you and to revitalize your life.
The Proverbs verse motivates us to look straight ahead (forward) and fix our eyes (gaze) on what lies before us (the present and future). Such a pragmatic reminder that what lies ahead is better than what lies behind us. Enduring a season of tribulations, start looking forward to the blessings waiting for you on the other side of it. Repeating cycles that are frustrating you, determine the genesis of the cycles then decide to shift your mindset to perform actions that move you forward. Natural optimism springs up when you are resolute about fixing your gaze to always look forward.
Joy Gem: Write down 3 aspirations you are looking forward to for the next 6 months. Next, craft your intention for the aspirations and formulate 2-3 small steps you can take to bring the aspirations to fruition.
