Preparation Season (Waiting)
Wait /wāt/
verb - stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or until something else happens
noun - period of waiting
Waiting is never in vain. In fact, consider the waiting period as a time of preparation for what comes next. We are all waiting for something to transpire or come to fruition. Whether that be in the realms of career, relationships, health, family, or other personal desires - we can all identify a burning desire within us that keeps us yearning. Waiting can be deemed as one of the hardest periods in life to endure - causing impatience, frustration, and doubt. However, it is not only about the preparation (waiting) period you may be enduring, but it is more so about how you wait. The fruit of waiting well produces gratitude, perseverance, strength, joy, and greater character development. The character development during the wait is necessary so you can maintain and grow with what you are soon to receive.
I have been in a preparation (waiting) season for the past 2 years. The difference this time around is the spiritual maturity to understand why this season is necessary for my development. I can also admit that I have been waiting well in the sense of allowing myself to see the joy in the journey, focus on purpose work and serving others, accepting things that I must let go of for what is coming, allowing God to direct my steps and to shift my heart to always follow His will. I have been paying close attention to the lessons, patterns and cycles that no longer serve me, and most of all tending to my vessel with intentional care. Through it all my faith has increased, my joy to give and serve others has reached greater heights, and I am extra mindful to not allow what it is I am being prepared for to not become an idol planted in my heart.
What are you being prepared (waiting) for? This season is divinely orchestrated to push you towards the right path because unbeknownst to you, life is actually rigged in your favor to give you more than what you are asking for. Caveat - you have to have enough faith to believe this is true for you. The wait is supposed to push you so far out of your comfort zone that you completely forget who you were to become your greatest self. The frustration during the wait stems from your soul knowing that there are promises on the other side of this season. Those promises are EXACTLY what keeps you holding on. Being uncomfortable for a moment or two will pay off big time in the future. Trust your preparation (waiting) season!
