Go Where You Will Be Enriched

Beyond being intentional about the environments that you put yourself in, is the importance of being prudent about going where you will be enriched. Enrichment is essential to your self-development, fulfillment, and overall need for sustenance. The type of environments that will provide you with some form of spiritual, mental, emotional, social, physical, financial, and vocational enrichment. Discernment is necessary when it comes to vetting environments that you should either enter or not return to. A prime indicator is how you felt before and after being there. Many events, conferences, companies, and so forth, offer promises to deliver positively impactful experiences then fail to do so. Beware of false promises and also make a decision to not return or limit your time there after having a first-hand experience that failed to deliver.

Let’s take a step back to make sure you recognize what enrichment feels like specifically to you. How does your body respond to feeling enriched? In what ways does your mind or spirit expand when you feel enriched? Is enrichment a feeling of inspiration, motivation, vibrancy, fulfillment, or pure joy? I personally know that I have received a dose of enrichment when a level of excitement rises up within me and I am empowered to take action. For instance, if after attending a live podcast taping you leave feeling armed with new information that you are inspired to implement immediately then you were enriched mentally. If after attending a women’s conference you discover a missing piece of wisdom to an emotional challenge that you had been struggling to solve then you were enriched emotionally. Enrichment at its root is the process of improving or enhancing the quality of something. You are a living breathing being that is always in the process of becoming, so with that in mind practice being sensible about going where you will be enriched.
