Create Your Joy List
A Joy List is your personal list of items, activities, or practices that produce internal joy. It is crucial to define what joy means to you, to know what joy feels like, and to know your joy givers. Keep in mind that the list will continue to evolve over the years, so please remain open to modifying it. Creating your Joy List involves self-reflection and intentionality because you have to tap into your inner being to discover what truly brings you joy. The list will then act as a reference point whenever you need a reminder to indulge in your personal joy. It will especially be helpful to review it whenever you encounter an arduous part of your journey. It is during those tough times that you will need to actively pursue joy. The list can include a wide spectrum of hobbies, spiritual practices, people who share joy with you, favorite places, childlike joys, and aspirational joys. Be thoughtful. Be creative. Be in tuned with your authentic voice. The more you expose yourself to joy, the more you will notice a perspective shift of viewing joy as tangible.
