Create Your Care Plan
Caring for yourself ignites the kind of joy that causes you to radiate. It is truly our responsibility to take care of ourselves holistically, especially given the fact that life comes with a plethora of highs and lows. It is of high importance now more than ever to create a care plan that you can reference when life gets challenging or you simply need to give yourself some TLC. Your personal care plan is similar to how your primary care physician would create a plan to bring you back to sound health. It is a well-thought out and specifically crafted plan that fits your needs. We have to be proactive about taking care of ourselves, so that we experience the residual impact of proper care if or when feelings of overwhelm or burnout boil to the surface. Taking the time to craft a care plan is investing in your well-being and creating a line of defense to withstand the arduous parts of your journey.
You can begin crafting your care plan by asking yourself what is the type of self-care that resonates and rejuvenates you the most. This will help you begin to think of the ways you have cared for yourself before that have worked to restore you. Your care plan may include therapy sessions to help you work through and process your emotional challenges. Your care plan may include choosing to completely disconnect for an entire Saturday once a month to give yourself a break from interactions and digesting information. Your care plan may include an evening decompress routine for after work and it is taking the first hour to yourself to shake off the day. Your care plan may include anything that brings you back to center with yourself. May you find joy in creating your care plan simply because you are taking the time to consider yourself and you have creative license to design it however you like. The goal is to have a reference guide that will remind you of the ways you can care for yourself when your well-being has taken an unintentional backseat.
