Allow Patience to Produce Good Fruit

Patience is one of the greatest Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22) that we can embody. There is a deep lack of patience within society, partly due to the constant need for instant gratification and for everything to be readily available/accessible. Sometimes we have to remain patient and be still when we are called to wait to receive our hearts desire. During that season you will have to tap into the hope your faith has instilled in you. God develops our patience so that He can perform a profound work within us. Cultivating greater internal fruits such as perseverance, contentment, and self-authority that will serve us well when our desires come to fruition. You may perceive that you are lacking that which you do not have, but what if you reframed your perception to accept that the appointed time has yet to manifest. When you decide to be patient without trying to make something happen in your own strength then you will discover that God pre-planned provision for that appointed time.

You can practice patience in your daily life to incrementally build upon it. For example, you may naturally be impatient when you have to wait in line at the grocery store so you avoid long lines. Challenge yourself (time permitting) to purposely choose the long line to strengthen your patience muscle. Yes,  I am encouraging you to choose the path of resistance. Exposing yourself to instances where you have to mindfully practice patience will push you to grow. Keep in mind that exposing yourself to circumstances where you are called to deliberately practice patience can start out as frustrating and painful to endure. In spite of the frustration, patience is the kind of fruit that will positively impact every aspect of your life. Most importantly, you will grow to be more patient with God’s timing. Practice surrendering and fully embracing the journey. Amazing how when we are called to wait, prepare, and be patient that something beyond what we expected arrives. Start by declaring - I am trusting my journey and the possibilities the fruit of being patient will produce.
