Review Your Patterns
Personal development is a continuous cycle of working to improve who you are holistically. Our personal patterns are a combination of habits, thoughts, reactions, beliefs, practices, and so forth that we repeatedly execute whether it be conscious or unconscious. With that, it is vital to integrate reviewing your patterns throughout your self-improvement journey. For instance, if you have a pattern of staying in relationships or circumstances where you perceive you are being taken advantage of due to a limited belief in your inherent self-worth. Then that is a pattern that you perpetuate each time you choose to stay. The pattern will continue until you decide to get to the root of it. Once you get to the root of the pattern, you have to then identify the mindful practice you must consistently implement in order to break it. Keep in mind that patterns change over time by repetition of a counter action, thought, and/or choice rather than succumbing to your default response.
Perform self-discovery to pinpoint your personal patterns in each area of your life including spiritual growth or lack thereof, professional endeavors, platonic and romantic relationships, repeated life lessons, etc. The intention is to bring them to your conscious awareness to then perform a deep dive to uncover the genesis of the pattern, take accountability for your part in perpetuating it, and decide on one practice you can integrate when you notice the pattern is attempting to arise in your life. Here is a hard yet necessary truth, no one is going to do the work for you to change your life. You are already equipped to overcome negative patterns and opposition to give way to a better you overall. You deserve to be free from negative patterns that weigh on you and hold you back from partaking in maximum joy.
Joy Gem: “We can change the world if we change ourselves. We just need to get hold of the old patterns of thinking and dealing with things and start listening to our inner voices and trusting our own superpowers.” - Nina Hagen
